Way back on the 24th of October 1923 a message was dispatched to all members requesting that where possible they donate a few trinkets for a Red Cross sale being stewarded by the Turners Company. These were collected at the AWGB stand at the Harrogate Show over the Remembrance weekend, and we were extremely pleased with the response to the short notice request. The items were passed on to the Turners company and made their way to their stand at the Red Cross Christmas Market
I received the following email from the Clerk of The Turners Company
I hope you are well. A huge thank you to you and all your members and associated woodturning clubs from the Turners for their generous contribution to the pieces on sale. The Company was one of the top contributors to the event and it is only through kind donations such as your members and clubs that we can make the event such a significant fundraiser for the British Red Cross.
I would also like to take the opportunity on behalf of the AWGB Executive, to thank all those who contributed.
