MASTERCLASS

2 Day Hands-on Master Class at

Lincolnshire Wolds Woodturning Association

Creative Experience in Texturing – Colouring – Piercing – Airbrush on Platters and Thin Walled Vessels

The goal of this course is for members to take their current woodturning skills and enhance them with the use of various decorating techniques.

This master class will explore the use of Piercing, Colouring, Texturing and Airbrush to enhance Platters and Thin Wall vessels. Participants will gain an understanding of the various processes required to be creative in the use of the application of these different decorating elements.

As this workshop concentrates on Decoration Techniques, Candidates will be required to produce a thin wall vessel (3-4mm) and also turn and finish the back of a platter prior to bring to the workshop.

The AWGB is part funding this master class so it will only cost you £75.

2 Day Hands-on Master Class Weekend

At the Max Carey Woodturning Trust

A  Creative  Experience  in  Turned – Textured – Coloured Platters An Artistic Journey In Woodturning with Mick Hanbury and Tracy Owen

When:   Thursday 20th  and Friday 21st August 2020 POSTPONED

Where:  Max Carey Woodturning Trust, The Mill, Portishead, Nr. Bristol

The goal of this course is for members to take their woodturning imaginations to a new level whilst enhancing their skills of turning, texturing and coloring.

This master class will explore techniques for creating textural elements and colour on a turned platter.  Members will turn platters with a focus on designs that highlight these elements. Participants will gain an understanding of the processes required to be creative in the use of colouring techniques to show the effects created with layering textures and painted elements.

Previous experience of turning platters is required.

There is an opportunity for all to enjoy a relaxed evening meal with the Tutors and there is a ‘Travelodge’ close by for members who wish to stay overnight.
