Tree/wood identification

Hi just thought I would share an app that I have found that seems to be very accurate, you simply take a picture of a leaf and the facial recognition software will identify what tree it is, the app is called Leafsnap UK.
It is a great app available for free form Apple App Store so I presume you can get it on android too.

Thanks. I will be looking at that one.

I have learnt the first rule of woodturning.
The internal diameter should never exceed the external width.
Nor the internal depth, the external height.
Does that make me an expert now ?

You're welcome, I have tried it several times and it seems to be quite accurate, even tried taking different images of the same tree lol, cleaver stuff....

I think they are currently working on it so that it works from the bark too , it also contains pictures of the leaves and bark, and other information for manual identification.

Downloaded and took a bit to work out - you have to go into 'settings' and allow your camera to access the app.
You also have to have internet connection to get a verification

There is no Android version - one in the pipeline apparently
