Today my grandaughter Ali and I  made a Bowl with a Polomer Clay insert
Approx 11" x 2 1/2" Beech and Polomer Clay.

C & C as always

Becoming a family affair LOL. Like the random effect of the clay.

Now that is very nice, much more interesting than the glass stuff. I can't even begin to figure out how this figure is achieved.
I do suspect, though, that the bowl is not 112" diameter, probably 11" or 12"?

Yes, that is as good a reason as any to rush. Have seen him once at the Toolpost. Very good.

Sounds like a great day for both in the making of this and I like the polomer clay effect.
I have seen it put to some very dramatic effects. Some one makes flower shapes and the makes it in to pen blanks by arranging them around the tube very much like you have done around the rim.

This is really special, and great to see something new again. You must be pleased, George, that your collaboration with your grand daughter has had such great results.

Thank you everybody for your kind comments Ali did the clay and I made the Bowl
The clever bit is the clay and the best bit is that we always enjoy doing Craft together.

Neriage is mainly a ceramics technique but also used in glasswork.  It's worth a look as there are many effects possible.

Hi George
Like the bowl and the polymer clay infill, very interesting effect.
Having no knowledge of using the clay does it harden naturally or do you have to add an agent to it.
