Very very effective IMHO. I think I prefer it with the silver but very hard to say. Have to see them side by side. Must get a new canister for my burner.

Di and Tony

Great to see some more of your 'burnt offerings'

The strange thing is last night when I viewed the burnt and silver guilded items I thought they were amazing (and still do).  But for some reason the burnt and gold effect doesn't have the same impact on me.

If you ask me why - I wouldn't have an answer

Strange I know because the shapes and form are great.

Kind regards

David

I'm with Pete and David....the silver appealed much more than the gold....I think that the simple, metallic look lends itself to character pieces of wood, more than the ricjness of gold. Out of these pieces, it's the last one that floats my boat.

Thank You Pete... David .. And Les
Your feed back is very much appreciated.....we  ourselves are unsure of the direction we are taking this theme,
the balance between burn...  gilding....  verdigris...  and how much wood to leave showing, are all things we are still
  experimenting with.
  Kind Regards

Tony, Di,

The vase appeals to me, but I do a lot of vases but the winner is the last bowl.

The almost metallic finish with the 'old gold' band around it.

It's truly beautiful in it's own right but is also reminiscent of the pieces you posted some time ago, your artifact series, I think it would look great in one of those settings.

Great effect.  The top bowl is beautiful and reminds me of a raku Japanese Tea bowl, stunning.

Thank You Bryan   ........       Thank You Mark

We did a variation to see the  different  effects .... but the time was spent on the first bowl as this was
the effect I was truly after.
Thank you for your comments they are always much Appreciated.

What a melting pot of choice ... You've dented the HF digging it out ... :o ...

The richness of the inside of the lower bowl, against the still burnt inner rim, nice touch.. The upper bowl is much the same for detail inside, and an aged look.

The third NE could well have been beaten out... they've all a rough cast look, could they be wood.   ??? ..

Have I covered them all ... only thing to say, the gold works, very rich in form and finish.

Cheers  David
