A fine piece of timber, Ed....bet it smelled divine as you were working it! Glad you kept the 'natural features' open on this one - really like it.

Can't fault the finish, Ed, one nice piece of timber.

Should I recall correctly, Les Thorne started to turn out a very dry piece as a bowl, it was more dusty than shaving and there was an unplaceable smell. It was to be finished at home, so not seen the results, (on that note, post a pic Les should you read this).

It was a small piece and after the realization it was so beautiful, had wished he'd cored the center, for a £40 (I think was mentiond) blank, £35 was on the floor ..  :( ..

Hi Ed. I saw this beautiful vase on Facebook and hoped you would post it here.  Lovely shape and finish on a gorgeous bit of wood.
Regards
Graham
I have learnt the first rule of woodturning.
The internal diameter should never exceed the external width.
Nor the internal depth, the external height.
Does that make me an expert now ?

Like every thing about this piece Ed....... lovely finish on a very richly coloured and highly figured wood.

It really has a lovely smell and the amount of natural oil is unbelievable and then the colours in the wood I can't wait to get my hands on some more :)
