Turning Again at last
« on: June 27, 2012, 04:30:02 PM »
Having had just over 12 months without turning, I am now able to get back at it and have some fun, finished off the boring work that pays the bills and had a little time to play: Here are the results :
No 1. Hollow form in Sycamore pyrographed celtic style 6" tall x 4 1/2" wide
No 2. Chestnut hollow form pyrographed al la Cynthia Gibson 7" tall x 4 1/2" wide
No 3. Hollow form with finial & Jo Sonya paints 6" tall x 3 1/2" wide
No 4 Spalted beech Box 4" wide 3" tall

Cheers Martin.

Hi Martin, good to see you working at our art again.

Care to say a little more about the wall art, is it a 3 piece (all of them), 2 piece (the outside ones) or just the one in the centre?

I love the Pyro work,

Hi Martin, There is one good thing about the Large photos the detail shows up very well and there certainly is a lot of detail in these great pieces.

Hi Brian ( Dr4gonfly )

The centre wall piece is an off centre work airbrushed and  hand painted set on an MDF bard sprayed black and covered in hesian cloth with was the airbrushed, I then made a second plaque off centre turned and airbrushed then cut in half to go either side of plaque No 1.

Hope that makes sense.

Cheers Martin

Martin,

I keep coming back to the hollow form with a finial. I know George has been working with Jo Sonja's iridescent paints a lot lately but I've fallen in love with this effect and the way it work on your form.

There's no need for Martin to change his images, if you are having to scroll around pictures, just change the view percentage until the image fits in your window.
