I used to think of texturing as using one of the various specialist tools then I came across a turner in Aussie who specialisesin it using all sorts of tools and got hooked. Like so many things watch the expert and it looks simpe untl you try yourself. Frtunately lockdown (orevious and tbhis one) mean I have time to 'play' and experiment and so have been digging out old pieces that I am not oberly happy ith and working on them. Once in a while I do something that I am (temprarily) pleased with and this is one of them. vdery simpke boring pear wood bowl, it measures 10 1/2" (265mm) diameter with a rim of 2 1/2" (63mm) I marked the rim off into 8 segments and pi[ut a different texture in each segment. The rim was then stained black to contrast ith the pinkish tinge of the bowl. Hard to get good images of the textures but hopefully they will give an idea of the various patterns etc.
