« on: May 04, 2020, 02:20:25 PM »
I have just made a 19INCH dia spalted beech platter. This was well spalted beech and as had multiple coats of cellulose sanding sealer between different sanding paper grades and as taken many hours of work.I welcome any comments

Lovely use of a lovely piece off wood. Now you need to find somwhere to put 19" of wood LOL.

Spalted beech lends itself well to use as a platter; plenty of rim to show off the grain. You've done a great job of this.

It looks a well-turned piece I do like wide rims as Les stated it allows the wood to be seen if the bowl part is filled with something

A beautiful piece of wood treated sympathetically and made into a useful if large item.

Not sure about the sharp corners on the out rim but it was your design choice.
