Holly Box

This is far smaller than the image would have you believe, it only stands 3½” high.
Made from Holly, the outside was coated in Gesso and then many different blue and green paints dragged around the outside in lines.

This is not my original idea, it was my impression of one I saw posted onto the Chestnut users Facebook Group.

I like that on all sorts of different levels; the form, the random blue lines and that wonderful blue of the lid. It all works for me.

Thank you Les.

The lines I discussed in the original description.

So to describe the lid, more of the same would have looked wrong so I went with a solid colour. The paint was a standard blue metallic acrylic. Once that was dried I gave it a thin coat of the acrylic irradescent base I posted a picture of recently, just to try and give it a lift.
