This was a bit of Yew with lots of inclusions of bark and cracks, so I turned it to a reasonable shape but leaving lots of character, then hollowed it a little.
The lid is (I don’t remember) but I coated it in copper paint then dripped some of the acid onto it to cause the verdigris effect (the jury is still out on if I like it or not). It was then given a couple of coats of Chestnut satin varnish, to prevent the chemicals getting onto people's fingers, and a beech finial was added.
