« on: October 07, 2018, 07:52:29 PM »

I have just looked at the 250+ photographs taken by Jonathon Cuff and collated by Shirley Sinclair absolutely fantastic I am only sorry I couldn't make the Seminar this year the pieces would be even better to see in the flesh well done to all of the
 Exhibitors.

I agree 100%, John. I, too, am unable to attend the seminars because of commitments with our shop/gallery, so I look forward to my retirement days (whenever that is) so that I can steal a weekend away. Meanwhile, I shall wonder at the variety and the quality of the work. It really has been grand this year.

I can tell you that the work on display was extraordinary.
And for those that missed it, the whole weekend was amazing, yes, I was there (sorry but you've got to boast sometimes).

Not boasting Bryan just giving thanks! I thought the gallery was incredible this time. Although I was working so did not get to see any demos I did manage to speak to (felt like) hundreds of people. What was nice was when a group of chaps from one of the clubs that I demonstrated at came up for a chat, I liked that. I thought the whole thing was very well put together and the team that did it deserves a pat on the back. After being one of the team members in years gone past I know how hard they all must have worked. Well done.

Yes, the gallery was stunning, and nowadays it takes real hard work to make it onto the tour, there was so much interesting and high quality work on display.
I also agree that Paul Hannaby and his team deserve a big thank you for a well organized seminar.

Yes, I agree, a very worthwhile weekend spent at Yarnfield. The AWGB team deserve a well earned rest after their efforts with this seminar. A good range of demonstrators, we are able to pick up lots of information even if we don't do the same type of work. With two from Ireland, two from France, then USA, Canada and Norway as well as the four from the UK,where else might one see such a range of styles and presentations in one place at one time. Yes it was hard work being a delegate but worthwhile. Lots to see in the instant gallery, something there to match all types of woodturning and plenty of stunning quality. Car Park, accomodation, food and turning venues all within a short walk was welcomed. :) Looking forward to 2020 now. ;D

A fabulous range of art on display. Not all to my taste, but I can still appreciate the work that was involved. Hopefully, I'll make the next one - I'll get saving now!  ;D

If I remember correctly, the overall winning piece was by Pepe L Rubio and is the Red eroded and red & Black topped vessel with the tall finial.

We will be putting a link on the website and we will have some better photos of the selected top 50 - of which we ended up with 74!

But first I need to unload my car!
