Two new Rockers
« on: June 25, 2018, 06:23:13 PM »
Many years ago my dad made a couple of Windsor type chairs and having followed him taking up woodturning when I retired, I decided that I would like to do the same. Following a course at Axminster in March I took on the challenge of working on the two rocking chairs - one for me one for the grandchildren(5 of them so they will have to argue about who sits in it when they are all together in August!)

Dave

You're to be complemented on two very excellently turned and executed chairs.

You'd put a great deal of thought into the layout of the timber, (nice board in the first place) right down to the end detail of assemble.

The arms of the small chair, darker center rail in back (same the large chair), not to mention keeping the detail of top bar.

Heirlooms indeed for the next generation, now too who fights over them.

Cheers for sharing.

Great work, something to be very proud of.

Next time someone calls you a 'Bodger' say 'Yep' and show them a photo of these.
