I like the shape / form but think the colouring is overdone . Is colouring meant to enhance a piece or totally dominate  ?

Like the shape and colouring on this one. Always surprised at the different effects that can be got from one type of paint. I thought you were taking the micky about tipping the screen but it did change the colours slightly.

This has been discussed so many times! Did you ever ask a potter why you can't see the clay that he or she chose to hide behind some beautiful glazes? The fact of the matter is that since time immemorial, artistic work has been applied to the surface of whatever background the artist feels happy working in. That could be pottery, metal, wood or many other media. I admire George's 'Coloured Hollow Form' for the applied art, every bit as much as I do for the form itself. Seeing the grain is unimportant....we're not meant to see it!

Education is important, but wood turning is importanter.

Love the form, George, and the colour effect is just amazing....don't think I've ever seen so much depth in a finish.
