"Another" coloured Hollow Form
« on: April 17, 2016, 10:13:56 PM »
After a long hard day in the garden I rewarded myself with another few hours in the workshop. This piece is another piece of Lime (sorry Les, lol). Ebonised then painted with Acrylics and lacquer, then buffed on the chestnut buffing system. Size is roughly the same as last nights, approximately 8" x 4.5" (not measured it yet)

C & C's welcome as usual.

Best Regards

Gary

Hi Gary....I really like this one, in fact, I think that I prefer this to the 'cosmic' effects.

Les

p.s. ... never apologise for using of lime, this is about the best thing that could happen to it. I've got loads of the stuff packed away and every now and again I take a big lump and put it in the raffle at our woodturning club.
Education is important, but wood turning is importanter.

Cheers Les, glad you like it. I agree it's the best thing to do with Lime. I'm quite please with this one considering it's not what I intended to start with. I tried doing something else which never worked (on a test piece) so this came about by accident but I think I might be doing it again, lol

Best Regards

Gary

The simplistic but deep effect makes me think it's a ceramic piece. Something I do like to see in wooden vases.
