My dog comes down the workshop with me everyday, everyday she lies down in the shavings, evreryday she goes back up the house and shakes..............not at the back door but always, ALWAYS!! in the dining room before I can catch her. Do I get in trouble for that?........yep every single day. Would I change dogs? Not a chance ;D

What a shame, John. Was it age?

I've always had dogs, and Heather, the mini Jack Russell is with me all the time. She gets on my nerves sometimes but I'd miss her if she wasn't there.

Best wishes

Andy

(PS...i will reply to your query re. chestnut. Just been busy and forgetful!)

He was a rescue dog you said, so I'm quite sure you gave him a lot and love and happiness when he needed it most. And knowing dogs - It was returned in kind.

Will you be taking on another one?

John,  For the 5 short months (nearly 6) she was with you, it was a time of great love to all in those not known last days .. She'll live on in this wonderful dog bowl with us all.

Of all my dogs over time not one has ever been the same, I miss each one ..    :'( ...    and not one can be replaced..

Regards.  David

Hi Folks,
Thanks for your kind comments, we had Tilly who was used as a breeding bitch for years for just over 6 months, we think she was about 10-11 years old she was a tiny Jack Russell ( about 2/3rds the size of our Suki, also a small JR).  I was very much her "human" most others could not do anything with her. I really miss her.

Here's the finished "Dog bowl" It is made from year old Horse Chestnut. It measures 390 X 150mm. The band is textured and coloured with Gilt cream. It is finished  with Chestnut finishing oil (4 Coats)

I've always thought of turning Horse Chestnut as trying to turn cotton wool - guess I'm going to have to get some and try it!
