Yew really is hard to beat when it comes to the combination of grain and colour. I am not sure I would call this a bowl, I think "dish" is probably more appropriate, and it's a little on the thickish side for my liking, but I can imagine that it was tricky anyway at this diameter. Well done, and a very lovely result! And indeed, no more is needed that just this.

Not a lot of 'bowl' to it  :)  But amazing grain and colour. I never see any Yew down under.

very nice and not easy to turn i would of thought - looks like a very shallow chucking fpont on the back - well done - would of been good to see a bead or circllar feature on the top, lovely item.
why do i feel the need to turn a block of wood into shavings?

Ed,

wow, at 540mm (I had to convert to 21") I'd say you are starting to push that VB you've bought when turning something like this, are you sure it did not propeller and take off?

Simple enough to make the grain of the yew speak for itself, great work.
