Hello Its Us

  Its been quite awhile since we last posted .... been a bit poorly.... back now though with 3 vases.... they were done at the beginning
  of January but only just been able to finish them they are all turned from crotch woods with a very light wash ...... They are 13"
  11" and 10 1/2" in height and Horse chestnut .... Poplar....and think Sycamore.
   As always comments are most welcome

         Find that the crotch of most pale woods take a light wash or stain very well, but after saying that all crotch woods
         give some wonderful grain patterns. Some of the fruit woods can crack and degrade easily so require careful drying.

Tony, you're right of course, crotches give that wonderful grain.

Its having the courage to cut it out of the bigger lump, turn something a simple as a cylinder and let the grain speak for itself that counts.

They look wonderful.

      Thank You Bryan ..... The two  thinner ones were cut from some already planked pieces cut for something else.
      So managed to make quite a lot out of it.
