Well done on this piece Steve , a good size and  excellent finish , and you have got the holes / voids nicely positioned and distributed about the piece as well . I rather like the detail around the entrance hole as well .   I usually paint the interior of mine matt black as I feel it shows of the surface better especially if the voids are quite large as in this piece , however I would not do this once the piece is dried and finished as the sudden damping with emulsion on the wood surface on the interior can induce cracking !! .... I'm struggling (not common for me), it's high end gallery standard work, and beautiful to boot.

I applaud this piece, truly beautiful.
