and..................breathe out.
« on: December 18, 2015, 11:07:33 AM »
Last orders finished and in the post. Much as I love woodturning I have to admit that I am looking forward to the next week or so with no 'necessary' turning to do....I think. Got some commissions I have to do in January as well as demos and tuitions to prepare for but it's lovely to know I don't have to go in the workshop if I don't want to. Just me, or others feel the same?

Enjoy your rest Pete, for me I would rather cancel Christmas and stay in the workshop  :). But once Christmas and Boxing day are out of the way I will be straight back in or I will get withdrawal symptoms and I too have some pieces to get finished/started for customers and they should have been done a while ago.

Not sure whether I will get any rest Mark LOL. Off to Cornwall for a few days seeing all the kids then Christmas with relatives back up here....then like you back to the workshop. What will be nice is I will be able to focus on things I want to do not what people want for a while.

Pete,

I'm with you. Last delivery to the shop that sells my work last Tuesday, next couple of weeks are for me, to do in the workshop 'what I want', fun and play time.

Time to get out some of my sketches out and see how what they look like when made.

Yes that is how I feel about it too. But today I had lunch with some very good friends and that only happened because of Christmas so happy for that. Got some good ideas too for the new year.

Hi John

I don;t mind the getting together with friends and family bit, it is the rest of it that gets on my wick.

Still treated myself to Christmas present today, a ticket to go watch AC~DC on tour in London for 2016, 'Let There be Rock' that is all I can say  :)

Must admit I am not into all the commercialism etc but do like seeing family and friends as you do. best part though is that I can switch off making things foir other people and make things that I want to make for a week or two. I do a fair number of big shows leading up to Christmas and from now on there is nothing for a while so I can chill and hopefully go back to doing some more original things.

Didn't realise AC DC were still together touring Mark.

Good for you George - hope it all goes well. Parcel for the wife arrived yesterday, I saw it being smuggled up the stairs with a Simon Hope address label on it  :D :D :D so I think I may be in the shed next Friday  ;) :)
