My name is Tom Sherman, a turner from Roanoke Virginia. I have been turning for 11 years, with a couple of breaks in the middle. Most recently I was away from turning for about 3 years due to the day job. I am currently semi-retired and have a bit more free time now and have been reacquainting myself with my lathe. I have looked over the site read some of the posts and viewed some of the gallery, I recognize some folks from other forums and look forward to getting to know you folks. Here are a couple of my latest works.

Welcome Tom,

It's always good to have forum members from other parts of the world, it brings other ideas to us as well as showing that this forum is not just for AWGB members (Yes I've spoken to turners who think it is.)
Oh Lord, Lead me not into temptation…

...Oh who am I kidding, follow me, I know a shortcut!

I do thank you all for the warm welcome, I feel as though I have posted the pictures in the wrong category that they should have been posted in the gallery. I'll do better next time.

Les your work was the first that I recognized, I think I have seen some of it that I haven't seen before and it's all good.

Welcome aboard Tom.
Regards
Graham
I have learnt the first rule of woodturning.
The internal diameter should never exceed the external width.
Nor the internal depth, the external height.
Does that make me an expert now ?
