Emerging 'sink'
« on: August 23, 2015, 07:50:57 PM »
hello,
this is my 1st post on this forum. I thought it should be light-hearted so I hope it will be treated in a like manner. I have noticed some pretty sharp comments in the past so it is with some trepidation that I give you..........
An emerging basin

I have retired to a life of idleness with a couple of vintage cars, several horses, a smallholding and a large garden.
I live in Northumberland and recently took up woodturning as a hobby in 2011.
Mentors & coaches include local woodturners & Martin Pidgen.
C&C always welcome
Nick

Hi Nick and welcome. Think I have seen this one somewhere else? These 'emerging' bowls are usually done more conservatively so to see one with a quirky touch like this appeals to me personally. How big are the taps? I assume they are from dolls furniture or it is one heck of a size bowl

Nick,

Your sense of humour seems to be as interesting as your turning, you'll fit in fine.

Is this to any particular scale. I ask as a detailed set of taps like that must come from a dolls house emporium or something like it.

Like Pete, I've seen these emerging bowls before, but your take on it stands out as a unique way of looking at them.

 :) thanks for the welcome
The taps stand 15mm high. Bought online from the Dolls House Emporium.
I saw a demo of an emerging bowl but felt that it was a rather sterile exercise which needed a lighter touch or a more complex working and then discovered that Weisflogh (spelling) had done that.
I'm encouraged to come back
Nick

It's always good to see someone taking an idea and making it different, in their own style. Look forward to what else you come up with.

With the cost of some of the dolls house furniture I think you have "tapped" the market, plumb quirky, I love it. S.
