Young George showed me a book the last time I was in deepest darkest Somerset and I've looked online for a copy ever since.

It has been described by one critic as “eye candy for turners”.

You can get it second hand on Amazon for a really stupid price and it’s actually cheaper to import it from the USA but it’s still a stupid price but a little less stupid.

Does anyone have a copy they would like to sell please?

It's a great book and cover price is $24.95 -well worth every cent.

Book was juried by Ray Leier and Jan Peters of the del mano Gallery and Kevin Wallace.

Just checked Amazon and I see what you mean about the prices!!! It's still selling at $43 from Amazon US.

Hope you find a copy at a reasonable price - have you tried any of the bookfinder services or second hand bookshops?

Not entirely what you want, but it may be worth asking your local library to get a copy. These days, you can often take a book out for up to 18 months by renewing every few weeks as long as it's not requested by anyone else.

A check on the mailing cost $41.35 as much almost as the book ... Total's $86.90/£54.90 ... less you can wait an ask for surface mail.

Many thanks to everyone that replied.

PERHAPS THE ASSOCIATION SHOULD PRODUCE A SIMILAR TYPE OF BOOK - WHAT SAY YOU PEOPLE?

Eric - tut.

Lazurus: I agree about Eric.

David: Many thanks, I've tried every avenue I know.

Peter: Many thanks but it still works out at £49.54 for a book that was, I think, under £20 when it was new.

Duncan: My local main library in Bath has 2 copies so I might go that way.

Steve and Woodndesign: I've been in touch with the ebay seller in the States and your right with postage its over £50 and his feedback with books isn't great (pages missing etc).

I have managed to download it onto my PC, its better than nothing but not the same as sitting in the garden on a sunny afternoon with a glass of something cold.

Much appreciated.

the association did produce something similar, I think it was in 1997 but stand to be corrected.
