Hi Graham
Nice piece of turning really nice finish
I read that you have trouble with eye sight, I also have trouble when turning small items and bought a magnifying light which is basically a magnifying glass with built in light on a light stand which you can move over your lathe.
It works really well for me and is not to expensive
Hope this might help with eye problem.
Whatch you don't leave it over turned piece when applying finish lol does not do magnifying glass any good

Hi David, thanks for the thought. I tried that, in fact it is still lying next to the lathe, but it didn't provide enough improvement. My acuity is 2/60 which, broadly speaking, means I have about 3 or 4% vision. The CCTV gives me a magnification of about X 20 on small items which is pretty handy when you get used to looking above the cut.  :)

Graham
I have learnt the first rule of woodturning.
The internal diameter should never exceed the external width.
Nor the internal depth, the external height.
Does that make me an expert now ?
