Laburnum vase

This Laburnum vase is 9" x 5" across the top and 8" tall which I finished oiling a few weeks ago also a few smaller Spalted Holy vases with a polish finish enjoy

Hi Woody....you must have quite a stock of timber! I've been working some spalted holly that shows strikingly similar grain and spalt marks, and it stinks to high heaven. Does your s also smell?

I'm not sure Les I'm at the age were my sense of smell is none existent LOL

great work mate, to me the laburnum looks more bowl like...

where does the boundary lye from tall bowl to vase???

I have learnt the first rule of woodturning.
The internal diameter should never exceed the external width.
Nor the internal depth, the external height.
Does that make me an expert now ?

If a debate .. I'd go Vase as it's 8" tall and for the form.

These are the usual stunning pieces we've come to expect .. Well Woody.

of the two I'd go for the Holly Vase. Good to see you back with us and posting hard and fast again.
