Laburnum Bowls

Hi sorry I have neglected posting for a long time no excesses I have quite a lot to show you guys so I will begin with two natural edge Laburnum bowls one is 7" x 6" tall with a polish finish the other I completed yesterday is 9" x 5" tall with a teak oil finish enjoy

Hi Woody....good to see you back on here. I like both of these bowls, but it's the top one that is my favourite and I especially like that little bit of ripple in the grain.

Vic, If there's two thinks .. 1st it's in seeing two wonderfully turned classic forms .. 2nd such a delight they're from you.

I do like them, if anything the teak oil shows best as a finish, highlighting the touch of moss on the bark, and not blocked out the same as with the polish. Well done.

Woody,

beautiful forms perfectly enhanced but the use of Laburnum and the different grain colours.
Oh Lord, Lead me not into temptation…

I have learnt the first rule of woodturning.
The internal diameter should never exceed the external width.
Nor the internal depth, the external height.
Does that make me an expert now ?
