Yandles Show
« on: August 26, 2014, 04:31:44 PM »
Not long now. Swimbo and I are going to spend a few days in the area and spend ( at least) Friday there. Are many of you going ?
Regards
Graham
I have learnt the first rule of woodturning.
The internal diameter should never exceed the external width.
Nor the internal depth, the external height.
Does that make me an expert now ?

Not sure we can make it this time, got most weekends booked up and demos in the week, pity as John (bowler hatted turner) and a friend of mune who does pyrography for me are demonstrating there. Can't do everything though

About 2.5-3 hrs with a clear run, no stops and a tail wind .. If lucky a stopover with my Sister Friday night and chance of Saturday as well .. Otherwise a long full day, but worth the Trip.

We'll hear from John and the Burcot Club as they run a coach down, yet leaves back early due maybe to Driver Hours or the Time. You'll find a few that make as long a trip, even up from Cornwall and across from the Home Counties.

Yes not long now, really looking forward to it. I still think it is the best show of the year. I will be demonstrating there over the two days so come up and say hello, it's always nice to put a face to a name. I have started looking out the timber already, found some nice Yew and Pau Amarillo with maybe some Wenge or African Blackwood or Ebony to play with.
I will probably camp at Southforks site.
Look forward to seeing you all there.

Yep, count me in, certainly for the Friday.

I promise - no 'acquiring' logs just before this time and ripping up my ankle.

yep. I'll be there too. I have to travel from Swansea (might be quicker going across the Bristol Channel) and am concerned the Nato summit on the Friday around Newport might slow me down so I might go on Saturday instead. Hope to see many of you there. Malcolm.
