turning again
« on: April 05, 2014, 08:46:21 PM »
l haven't done much turning for the last year, since the move from Surrey to Argyll l have been busy renovating the house. However l have promised l will have a piece ready for a display in the local museum. So l have been planning the piece and doing some homework on the theme  of "Time, in an instant, in an eternityā€¯
So l have a piece of oak setup on the lathe, its offset and oblong and needs to be treated with caution. I start the vicmark 300 off slowly, turn the vari speed and the speed shoots from 40-3000rpm. I managed to get it switched off and checked out the lathe. One cable is disconnected from the variable resistor, which is a quick repair and must have been weakened in the house moving/ storage saga.

ahh there is nothing like getting back in the workshop
