My first thought on seeing the first one posted by Col was what a waste of good timber. Obviously looking at the second one there is no way I would contemplate doing that as my waist line measurement, although quite ample, is not the equivalent of my height.

I have learnt the first rule of woodturning.
The internal diameter should never exceed the external width.
Nor the internal depth, the external height.
Does that make me an expert now ?
