hi all question about rose wood

i have been look on line a see some turner say that rose wood is good to turn  now  when i hear rose wood i see a rose bush in my mind   can any one tell me  what they mean by rose wood  is it a tree   sorry if its a silly question

Hi Pete,
           good to see you back again. If you have the opportunity to turn Rosewood do so as it is lovely to turn and takes a really nice finish.
