new series
« on: September 12, 2013, 05:19:09 PM »
As I haven't posted anything in a while I thought I'd post this as I've just finished a series of 7 forms all in a series called "Art Quotes".

290mm platter to rear, hollow vessel, open form, hollow ball on base, lidded bowl, hollow lidded vessel with carved finial, and an open bowl

sycamore and ash

pyro, stain and lacquer

and there was to be another discus type hollow vessel, but someone bought it at the seminar...

Hi Andy, Very nice work it must be time consuming. I don't do Twitter but it would be interesting to read Mark's comments.

Hi Andy...now that I'm equipped with the vision of you sat at work behind you're lathe, I can really appreciate just how many man-hours went into all the burning and colouring (to say nothing of the mapping-out of the text). It's got the 'wow' factor for me!

Having been lucky enough so see some of these pieces when Andy was demonstrating at my club earlier this month, the pictures as with a lot of great pieces do not truly reflect the impressive work carried out. The quality of the vision and execution is something I hope to achieve as my work progresses.  The combination of natural wood and heavily worked area should please both the round and brown club and those at the wood art end of the spectrum
