Hi all,
I also make simple bowls, not always complicated things.
30x30x10 cm. What's your feeling when you look at it ?

Hi Jo...at first I thought that this was another natural-line curve, following the shape of the branch that the wood was cut from, but then I realised that you'd cut the bowl to this shape. The curve is sumptuous and I was drawn to trace my finger around it. Lovely shape!
Education is important, but wood turning is importanter.

Jo, you call it a simple cherry bowl. Simple - no.

As Les notes you've carved the top to shape and I can see you've also carved the feet.

The overall appearance has a wonderful appeal to the eye.

Jo, I quite agree with the comments as they are, the grain almost flows with the curve, 3 or 4 small feet !!!.

Cheers for sharing.

Hello Jo,
as always with your work nothing is just a simple bowl. This appears to have been cut and shaped and has obviously been worked to achieve a simplistic look and finish.
The feeling I get when I see it is one of relaxation, perhaps it is relief at not having to interpret what I see ;D
but overall a calming effect.
Lovely.
