Hi Dave,  You took in Joes' demonsation well, credit to him for a job well done and you've made a fine detailed example, it may not be functional being Laburnum, then which is the poisonous parts, if at all, on the safe side still fine piece for display, grace any kitchen.

Thank you for sharing.

David

One of those strange things we make, we sell but truthfully, how many ladies do we know that actually use them anymore.

Very good and clean lines for such a simple design, and the hanging thong works well for me.

Bryan....go and sit on the naughty step....that was such a sexist remark!

On a more serious note, I really like the look of it. Not so sure about the choice of timber, but if David and Bryan are right, it'll not matter much. Just a thought, Dave, how long did it take from start to finish?

Regards...Les

Les,

I wondered about that comment when I posted it, especially as I tend to do the baking in our home.

Apologies to any ladies who read the forum.

gwyntog......You asked how long it took to make... sorry I don't know, there was a lot of hand work finishing. I never time myself, it's a pastime and takes as log as it takes.
Another question I am often asked is "What speed the lathe was turning" ..again I never check, I just turn it up or down to the speed that best suites the the task. I prefer to generally turn at higher speeds. Thanks for your comments !
