Following on from Pete's great idea of what to do with scraps, I've come across this story,

I like it, a lot. Things like this are not only environmentally friendly but simple to make and really cute and cute sells. OK not grand art but well worth doing IMHO.

That's one cool idea ...  and they look smart too, even down to the packages and use of shavings .. cash (cow) chicks there for sure .

Reading down they are designed by Lars Frideen, made and sold by Discipline : http://www.discipline.eu/uk/ .. Huuuumm .

Cheers for that.

It also says he takes half a day to make each one. I can't see him getting much return on his time!

That time must allow for glue drying. They sell for €67.00

Yikes, Paul, that's £57.....can't stop, I'm off to the workshop to cut up some furniture and glue it back together again.

They`re look great, thanks for posting.

The turning club secretary had asked for new ideas for the charity stall & with all the offcuts I have making something like those will be ideal.

Cheers.

Doug.
