Can anyone recommend a thin good quality live tail centre please. The body of mine is about 35mm diam. and restricts access for small work (finials, chess pieces and the like). MT 2 with good reliable bearings.

Hi Tim
Axminster do a range of live centres - one is thin (22mm) and another has multi tips. I have a similar version to teh multi tip and the small tip is very useful for the dort of work you describe
Cheers Dave

Thanks Dave
I will have a look at them and perhaps ask Axminster to take one along to Daventry.

The Axminster multi-tip is a good centre. I use mine a lot.
There are other options, the Oneway is a great centre, but pricey, and I know someone who swears by the Planet centres.

Thanks for the advice Andy ( and everyone else). I needed a small long centre without all the other bits and pieces. I have finished up buying the Multistar mini centre. It looks a fine piece of kit for small work.
