Re-purposed Glass

Hi folks,

I often see old jars and the like bereft of lids. But people pass them on as the are attractive they are hopeful that someone will finds a use for them.

Eventually it hit me, I'm a turner, make them new lids... I'm now on a mission, old (attractive) jars or lonely lids are going to get the other bit made for them.

The small jar has a Bog Oak lid, finished with the new Mylands metallic spirit stains.

The Perfume Bottle, well it's a bit of beech but I've painted it in Black Japlac.
Oh Lord, Lead me not into temptation…

...Oh who am I kidding, follow me, I know a shortcut!

You can do the same thing with old glass tumblers as well, make a base and a top, make good honey pots.

Very well done Bryan, have seen a chap on WoW do the same with old china pots and make bowls for lids to fit.

We have a jar that someone smashed the lid, I made a replacement so it could still be used, also what should have been a coffee pot, which is used as a plant waterer the knob smashed off the lid, a little grinding and some turning an a new knob ...   ;D ..

Cheers.
