A stunning piece of wood, but...

Sanding sealer and acrylic gloss spray - for a salad bowl?

Surely an oil finish was needed!

I normally do use Oil on all my bowls but I thought Id have an experiment with this one just to see how it holds up

Any kind of wax, sealer or gloss spray on a bowl that will be washed regularly is dodgy as it will come off. I personally use a well known brand of cooking oil found in a common supermarket. Works fine on the wood and is easily renewed by the owner. Bowl is lovely. I do like 'ordinary' household items made from good looking wood.
