New Goblet
« on: September 13, 2012, 04:04:58 PM »
Towards the end of last year I posted this vase I'd made and coloured, http://www.awgb.co.uk/awgbforum/index.php/topic,432.0.html

Then a while without a lathe and I came back and posted this goblet, http://www.awgb.co.uk/awgbforum/index.php/topic,695.0.html.

Well the guy that bought the Vase saw the goblet and loved it, but... could I make him one like the vase in 'Purple'...

Hell yes! - Sorry about the slightly blurry image.

Hi Bryan, After what you said to Martin about his photograph of his first casting I think you should post a decent photograph ASAP.

Sorry Guys, I can't get my camera to take a decent photo at the moment - so I've borrowed the wife's one.

These are much better - I hope!

I did not say earlier, the goblet is Walnut (branch wood, so pale in colour) stained Purple and cut back. Followed by lot's of oiling's and then a damn good polish up.

The stem is American Black Walnut. Overall height is 11 inches.

C&C as always please.

Bryan, that's a very nicely done piece, like the inlay to the base, trust it's one happy chap.

He's not seen it all yet, just a photo of the goblet section to make sure it's the colour/effect he wanted.

I'll deliver it tomorrow.
