Hi,
a new piece from robinia, smoked, ca 50cm high.
The hole represents the two eyes they are looking in different directions.
With the integrated plate you can change the looking direction of the eyes.
The only shortcoming: My chameleon doesn't change the color.

Hi Jo,
         I'm not sure I can see a chameleon in there but I do see the amount of work that has gone into it and strangely I quite like it.

I love the tactile look of this Jo. In the small images I can see where you are coming from with the chameleon but it isn'rt as noticeable in the bigger image. Lovely wood as well.

Jo, not to worry, thank you for view of the other side, it can now be scene as the Chameleon, the eye lids give the different direction of view.

Jo, I've looked at this many times trying to see what you saw.

I can see the chameleon effect, but it's the concept to spindle turning a platter in the first place - where do you get your inspiration?

It really is a stunning piece, thanks for sharing.

Hello Jo

I keep coming back to this piece trying to decide what it is that I don't think quite fits. 

I can clearly see the chameleon element and it is a stunning piece of turning (as ever with your work) and having looked at it again I think it's the base that seems out of context.  I'm not sure what would fit better - perhaps a "tail" shaped piece?

I hope you don't mind my comments.

you are right, the base is always a point of consideration. Is it a part of the object or not.
If yes, it must be included in the shape. If not, it must be different or like not to look. In
my case it is indeed the same wood, but a completely different shape and a rough surface.
Quasi not corresponding to the object. But I think all these considerations are also very
personally.
