Does anyone know this chuck make?

Just wondered if anyone recognises the Chuck in the Picture? I have inherited this chuck but it has no maker’s name and no jaws. I would like to purchase jaws but need to know what ones fit. It doesnt seem to be Nova or anything similar.

I’ve not seen anything like that but I suspect someone on here may know once they see it. Did it come with any tools like Tommy bars etc?

Hi Bill,
No no tools, only the screws to hold the chuck Jaws. I have seen a Jaw set online - Nova Js130N - which has the normal screw holes on the Radius but also screw holes at 90 degrees which look like they would line up with the chuck I have. I would want to order them just in case they dont fit though.

Pretty sure Bill is right and it is the discontinued Peter Childs chuck, so no commercially available jaws around for it any more

I used to have one just like that - Craft supplies used to make a maxigrip and minigrip chuck which were I think 4" and 3" chucks respectively. They were discontinued many years ago. The extra jaws used to screw on to the ones already in the chuck (hence the screw holes). Your only option now would be to either find some jaws second hand or get some made.

Why not turn a set of wooden jaws for it. One suitably shaped ring cut into four should do it.  Of course it won't have the lifespan of steel but making more sets will become easier and easier.

The Versa Chuck is a scroll chuck so I’m not sure if they would fit this Chuck.

I had a peter Child Master Chuck a while back (gone to Ebay now) and it looked nothing like the one in the picture,

I agree with Ron that this is not a Peter Child’s master 11 chuck.
It could be an earlier Peter Child’s model.
If you search on line there are photos of the master chuck 11 which requires two tommy bars to operate it.
