Anyone tried this? I can’t seem to see many examples from UK turners.

Yes I have. This is an example of one that I did it is an Ash platter 33cm in diameter. I just used a home made table mounted in the tool rest and an indexing wheel and a small router mounted on a sledge.

Bill,

Rod Page, with his lattice work is the only one I can think of immediately. I seem to remember Mark Baker doing a demo of it as well.

I'm sure it has featured in Woodturning mag as well, more of  a how to create the jig perhaps than its application.

Paul Howard does a jig - and if you go to https://www.paulhowardwoodturner.co.uk/jigs-and-things/ he lists pros who use the jig.

I did this one during lockdown. Have a look at Rod Page (or Paige) and also Paul Howard for examples

What routers are folks using with their jigs?

I am using a RotoZip router with mine, small light weight variable speed. It also has 2 collets one 1/4" and one much smaller for using Dremel bits.

I finished this a few days ago. Finishing items like this seems to be a challenge. I used lemon oil and microcrystalline wax in the end. Could be better.
