HELP! Removing face plate from Wadkin BZL

I've just upgraded my lathe from an axminster hobby lathe to a wadkin bzl woodturning lathe. I finally got it up and running  but im having trouble removing the face plate on the back wheel of the lathe. Does anyone have any advice for removing it?

Have you considered it is a left hand thread?
