another on the edge
« on: May 16, 2021, 11:09:26 AM »
A bowl after John Plater's 'on the edge' example!

Some timber from one of my sisters' beech trees that 'something interesting should be made from'.

N scale figures (supposedly ramblers) and vehicles - and yes one of the cars has working LED lights fed via a 3.5mm plug-in jack (not enough room for the battery within the bowl structure).  The stream is araldite over black marker pen. Fiddly but fun I think.

Hi Will

Just so that you know, sadly John passed away earlier this year. I'm sure he would have appreciated the mention and enjoyed your take on the 'On the edge' theme. He will be greatly missed at our club meets (South Downs Wood Turners) when we are allowed back, as he was always so willing to share his knowledge and experience.

On a lighter note, I really find these fun as well.

All the best
Steve

Steve

Thanks for telling me - I am sorry he will not learn that someone copied his idea but we did have a chat at the time over where to get models etc. so he knows I was interested.  Good that one's ideas live on..
