Axminster ceramic blade guides ? But which bandsaw should I buy
« on: December 16, 2020, 05:25:24 PM »
Hi looking at buying when they come back in stock a bandsaw from either record power or axminster budget 400 max. Reading on what specs they have I was wondering why ceramic blade guides and not bearings ?
I've been looking at the RPBS250, their sabre 250 version and the axminster 1950B
Which do you think is the best and why ??

I have a new Laguna bandsaw , My main reason for buying was ceramic guides !

Can you explain as there seems little difference when it comes to adjusting guides. Undo screw move solid guide/bearing redo screw?

I had a new scheppach  bandsaw a while ago, and the guide bearing adjusters were always vibrating undone ,so got rid of it and had the Laguna with ceramics , and it's brill for me,  no movement at all .

I’ve got standard bearings on my Record Power Bandsaw and they don’t come undone by themselves.
