Barge Bowl
« on: November 02, 2020, 07:52:07 PM »
I needed some me time so a simple bowl. Decorated in a similar style to barge painted flowers. 8 1/2" X 1 1/2" London plain. Flowers are done with Inktense pencils and finished with Acrylic sander sealer and woodwax22

Curious about the name you've given it 'Barge Bowl'. Is that because the of painting style, also known as Rosemaling.

Thank you.

No not Rosemaling of Norway, the name of the bowl is from the canal barge art seen on many of the old barges. Not sure if the old bargemen got the idea from the Norway. The flowers are just a loose depiction of them as you may know many were painted on a dark background.
