Yes that’s pretty bad! You could try smoothing it with some Emery paper then maybe lapping the Chuck to the spindle with some grinding paste?

Thanks again for the input. I'll rub it down a bit. maybe use a diamond file and flatten the ridges too. It's bound to be an improvement.
