Did a bit of research and apparently vinegar and lemon juice will repel the beetles as will boric acid and rosemary oil. Also the insects don't like aromatic plants so a load of those in your woodshed could be the answer

....my woodshed is adjacent to the herb patch....could be handy!
Education is important, but wood turning is importanter.

As Pauls answer put a wood in there that they prefer over others and periodically remove and burn not forgetting to replace that wood
