That's it I have had enough

Ever time I turn something I then spend nearly the same amount ot time clearing up 

Today I attempt to remedy this with a part recycling / part new project 

I now have this around 3 sides of my lathe , made from 2 recycled shower curtains that were due for renewing in the bathroom , Also had to buy one new one for the project , 2 Lengths of 15mm copper tubing 2 x 90 degree elbow and one T piece ,
Solder together the pipes , Cut 3 of 50mm x 50mm blocks , pre drill 16 mm holes with a forsner bit on the piller drill , drill 2 x pilot holes for the 2 fixing screws in each block for fixing on the wall behind the lathe , The try and hold it all together for fixing in place ,  , Managed it with the help of a rake some timber some tape
A bit Blue Peter ish but I did the manage to drill and then screw up into the copper pie to stop it falling out , Lets hope the clean up is now contained inside the screens

Being lightweight and easily moved they can be opened and held out of the way quickly

Yeah, I was thinking the same. Maybe it’s a colour match for the Lathe though?

My friend has done a similar thing in his workshop but using roller blinds - very effective!

Nope, won't work! like rabbits shavings will burrow underneath, and like eagles dust will fly over the top... there is a very real risk that the only clear bit will be inside the curtain

I did something similar in my workshop a few years ago, although mine was to avoid heating unused parts of the workshop in a really cold spell and concentrate he heat to where I was working. To be honest it lasted no more than a couple of week and then I got fed up with it.

I've got a similar setup in my shop, some old curtains running just around the lathe. I use it mostly when I do roughing out of green wood or when turning dry oak, as otherwise I have to clean the entire shop. Works perfectly fine for me.

I just clean the worst up each evening and have a blitz every now and then or the evening before if I have a student coming. Think I would get really frustrated with the curtains there as I have to cross the shop to get different tools, polish, abrasive etc all the time.,

The curtains only come out if needed, most of the time they are folded back to the walls of the workshop and don't get in the way at all. Plus: when turning green wood, the water splashes everywhere, and I really don't want that. It's enough that I have to clean the entire lathe after a green turning session. I already have water marks all over the ceiling above the lathe, that's enough, thank you.
