The problem be that if the oil seeps through you will need to catch it before it destroys furniture / carpets. Seems to me the solution is the GU puddings glass bowls, sorry you will have to suffer the calories in the interest of product development!  ;D

In fact the drip catcher on the last experiment works pretty well to protect surfaces.  Another issue is that the scent is released too fast (nice but gets through the fluid!).  So I will think about this - perhaps the slower diffusion across the grain has merit. I agree one might end up with sticks-in-glass but I would like to find something makable and more interesting!  But a break whilst I start on my long-case clock with rotating moon.
