The CRB and ISA (Independent Safguarding Authority) are merging to become the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) on 1st December 2012.
Their service stays the same - only the name changes.
I think this is to take into account the new restrictions under the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012 which introduces a number of changes to areas where a check may be needed.
